Pritish Kumar Halder will help you prepare for your interview by providing you with sample questions and answers. Try practicing some of these common Models of job interview questions:
1. What type of brands do you prefer to work with?
How to answer: An interviewer may ask this question to gain a better understanding of your preferences as a candidate. And evaluate whether you’d fit the needs of the brands they work with. For instance, agencies may work with commercial or high-fashion brands. Therefore, typically need to seek candidates that fit the respective needs of these types of brands. In your answer, try to describe your preferences honestly and offer an open-minded perspective using your existing knowledge of the agency.
Answer: “I typically prefer to work with brands that create wearable styles produced through sustainable practices. I want to be able to represent brands that make styles I can recommend to my friends and family with confidence. With this, though, I also like to keep an open mind regarding my preferences. I’d be willing to work with a diverse set of brands in the commercial advertising and high fashion.”
2. What has been your most challenging photo shoot?
How to answer: Sometimes, models may encounter photo shoots with unique needs and this can be challenging depending on a brand or designer’s specific expectations. An interviewer may ask you this question to assess how you’ve navigated challenges tangibly in the past. In your answer, describe an instance that demonstrates your flexibility and fortitude.
Answer: “My most challenging photo shoot took place last year with designer Kate Norris. I was modeling heels that were far too high for me to walk in a rugged, outdoor environment. While walking on gravel and navigating obstacles like railroad tracks, I had to be careful with my balance. But, eventually fell and cut me, which felt like a major setback. From here, I had to receive first aid, recover and get back in front of the camera to meet brand needs successfully.”
3. Who do you admire in the modeling industry?
How to answer: It’s common for models to look up to other professionals in their industry and use their career successes as a basis for motivation. An interviewer may ask you this question to understand your aspirations as a model and how you conceptualize yourself as a professional. In your answer, describe the person you admire most and explain why you feel an alignment with them professionally.
Answer: “I admire Flora Topol and the way she’s promoted body positivity in her work as a model. She’s become a healthy role model for many young girls who otherwise wouldn’t have seen women like them represented in media. I hope to be able to connect with others in a similar capacity through my modeling.”
Not every question you will encounter when interviewing for Models position will be related to commercial brand promotion supportive job. But those are the common topics interviewer can ask for selecting a qualified candidate.
