Any questions you want to practice should be geared towards your reliability, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions. Elementary School, Middle School, and High School should also be looking for motivation and enthusiasm for the specific position. You need to know some of the most common questions asked in interviews.

If you’re interested in becoming a PE Teacher, you’ll need to go through an interview process. Try practicing some of these common PE Teacher’s job interview questions with PK Halder:
1. How do you communicate lesson standards to students when introducing new concepts?
How to answer: Effective instruction depends on your support of students’ understanding of essential learning outcomes. This question helps interviewers assess your ability to convey information, demonstrate exercises and integrate classroom management techniques to ensure participation and engagement. In your answer, discuss how you ensure students understand important learning outcomes.
Answer: “When I introduce new exercises or health concepts, I first start by helping students form connections to real-life applications. This helps build a foundation for students to build on as they learn how to incorporate new movements, exercises, and team goals. I also like to demonstrate final learning outcomes for physical exercises and activities so students have a better understanding of how to perform tasks and complete lesson activities.”
2. What factors do you consider when planning student assessments?
How to answer: The interviewer is likely going to ask about your methods of evaluation. Consider your strategies for planning cumulative, summative, and standardized assessments that help measure student progress against required standards. When answering this question, give examples of how you use these strategies in your assessment planning.
Answer: “Physical education standards help me organize unit assessments and standardized assessments for midterm and end-of-year evaluations. Every 90 days, I plan for student assessments in core physical education standards, including motor skills, agility, endurance, and health and wellbeing. I measure these summative assessments against curriculum requirements to ensure students are progressing in their physical education skills. I also use cumulative assessments each semester to measure students’ knowledge and comprehension of important concepts.”
3. What elements do you consider when incorporating physical exercise into your lesson activities?
How to answer: This question can help the interviewer see how you incorporate requirements and curriculum objectives to support positive growth and development. When responding to this question, give examples of the important elements to ensuring effective physical education instruction.
Answer: “When planning lessons, the most important factors I consider are the age-appropriateness and developmental level of the activities I incorporate. This helps me plan for adapting lessons to different comprehension levels and physical abilities. Considering developmental level also helps ensure I implement inclusive and accessible resources for students when introducing new concepts.”
Not every question you will encounter when interviewing for PE Teacher’s position will be related to a student’s physical and mental care supportive job. But those are the common topics interviewer can ask for selecting a qualified candidate.
