Try practicing some of these common Bloggers’ job interview questions:

1.    Why did you choose to blog?

How to answer:  Employers ask this question to measure your commitment to the profession. To demonstrate this, convey enthusiasm in your answer.

Answer:  “I started blogging to share my gardening ideas and tips and quickly gained followers. As I learned more, I continued to inspire my readers with photos and videos, and they responded with updates on their gardening projects. Blogging lets me reach gardeners of all ages, and I hope to share my expertise with your customers, especially as I recommend your products to them.”

2.    Can you describe the other blogs for which you’ve written?

How to answer:   This question gauges your experience and versatility. Assure employers of your flexibility and describe other blogs you’ve written for or how you handled a change in employment.

Answer:  “I blogged for a fashion designer for a few years, and he asked for an informal approach to posts. A year later, he brought in a media manager who updated our approach to a more sophisticated style. After that, I learned to stay flexible with my style and confirm I understood the expectations before writing. Later, I started blogging for an upscale designer who wanted to include a fashion pun in every blog, and she approved everyone I wrote because I’d learned how to work with changing style expectations from my previous employer.”

3.    Can you describe our target audience and how you would reach them?

How to answer:  Business owners are conscious of their markets and expect bloggers to understand how to target readers. In your answer, demonstrate that you understand the company’s target audience and how to engage them.

Answer:   “Your Company serves a demographic of consumers aged 25 to 50. To reach this group with a blog post, I’d include relevant hashtags, links, and keywords in posts and descriptions. Next, I’d create a social media post that targets the specific parameters for age, location, and any other variables and include includes a link to the blog post in that social media post.”

Not every question you will encounter when interviewing for a Bloggers’ position will be related ta o marketing or public relations supportive job. But those are the common topics interviewer can ask for selecting a qualified candidate.
